Birzeit University, represented by Vice President for Community Affairs Dr. Alaa Al-Azzeh, and the Agricultural Development Association (Agricultural Relief – PARC), represented by the Association’s General Director Mr. Munjed Abu Jeish, signed on a memorandum of understanding on
Tuesday, November 12, 2024, to enhance cooperation between the Center for Development Studies (CDS) and PARC toward implementing joint development projects and research collaborations that serve development in Palestinian society and the common vision of both parties. Dr. Al-Azzeh stressed the importance of the memorandum of understanding for its positive prospects for all parties. Many ideas were discussed in the event, which could be put into effect in the coming days, with the aim of developing joint programs and projects and enhancing cooperation between the two parties, in addition to involving the young generation in agriculture and enhancing their required capabilities and skills for doing so. For his part, Mr. Abu Jeish said that this memorandum is an introduction to joint development work between Birzeit University, represented by the Center for Development Studies, and the Agricultural Relief, stressing the need to start with quick practical steps on the ground, and expressed the Agricultural Relief’s readiness to support the university students by all means and methods and involve them in the various activities it implements. This memorandum is a framework of understanding to organize the relationship between the two parties, and will result in joint projects and efforts that aim to strengthen the agricultural sector, drive sustainable development, empower Palestinian youth and consolidate them in their land.
