The Center for Development Studies, in cooperation with the Institute of Law at Birzeit University, held a special talk on the genocidal war on Gaza from the perspective of political economy, on Saturday 12/9/2023. The talk included participation from community organizations, university faculty and graduate students. The guest speaker was Mr. Raja Al-Khalidi, director of the Palestinian Economic Policy Research Institute (MAS). The meeting focused on reading the current and expected effects on the Palestinian economy as a result of the war on Gaza and the destruction of all the elements of life, in addition to the discussion of the worsening economy in light of the Palestinian political reality. The talk also focused on the effects on the various economic sectors in the West Bank and Gaza and the upcoming challenges and horizons in addition to the need to plan for them and think about the possibilities associated with this discussion.
