A group of students from the “Practicum in Community Development” course at Birzeit University, taught by Dr. Ahmed Al-Nubani, conducted field visits to a number of agricultural cooperatives in various areas of the West Bank. These visits included cooperatives in Safa, Beit Liqya, Bil’in, Jalazone, Deir Sudan, and Kafr Ni’ma, among others. These visits aimed to gain a closer look at the experiences of agricultural cooperatives and to understand the forms of organization and local production in light of the political and economic challenges facing these communities.
These visits are part of the Practicum in Community Development course for the second semester of the 2024-2025 academic year. This is a training course taught in the Master’s Program in Community Development at Birzeit University. The course seeks to develop students’ analytical and practical skills in dealing with Palestinian community development issues in a colonial context.
